Photographer Rory Lewis discusses his recent projects and how historical portraiture has inspired his modern-day photographs.

About this Event

Rory Lewis is a dedicated portrait photographer whose sitters have included David Cameron, Sir Derek Jacobi, and Patrick Steward. His portraits are in many collections, including the National Portrait Gallery, London. His recent projects, ‘Soldiery’ documented the British Army on the 21st Century and has been hailed as a national success story, named by the BBC as ‘The changing face of the British Army’.

A programme of art talks which explores our contemporary exhibition programme, and offers different perspectives on The Portland Collection of historic fine and decorative arts.

This project is supported by the Art Fund and forms part of RA250 UK: Exhibitions and events around the UK to celebrate 250 years of the Royal Academy of Arts.
