Liverpool City Council commissioned a Portrait of the new Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Erica Kemp CBE. Over the past few months I have been fascinated by the use of hands in my portraits, I asked the Mayor if she could clasp her hands in the image. The position reminds me of the 16th Century portrait artist Holbein who has inspired a great deal of my Political Portraiture.
In the second image I wanted to bring out the Mayor’s own personality with a nice approachable expression. Working between London, UK and Los Angeles, California.
