When Elisha Davis stepped into my Downtown Los Angeles studio, the objective was clear: create imagery that matched the pace and scale of his career right now.

With a growing body of television work and a slate of recent and upcoming releases, Elisha booked my Signature Actors Headshot Session—a session designed for actors who need more than a single “casting look.” This is about range, presence, and longevity across platforms: Spotlight, IMDb, press, agents, and editorial use.

A Session Built for Working Actors

The Signature Session is intentionally unhurried. Over the course of 120 minutes, we worked through five distinct looks, each crafted with its own lighting language and emotional register. From restrained and introspective to bold, confrontational, and cinematic, every setup was designed to feel like a still pulled from a production—not a moment in a studio.

This approach is especially important for actors like Elisha, whose work spans drama, heightened television, and character-driven storytelling. The goal is not to “play a type,” but to reveal multiple entry points for casting.

Direction Over Posing

My sessions are actor-centric. That means calm, precise direction rather than rigid posing. With Elisha, the focus was on subtle shifts—eye line, breath, tension in the jaw, stillness between moments. These micro-adjustments are what separate a good headshot from one that holds attention in a casting office.

The resulting images carry weight. They feel intentional, grounded, and contemporary—aligned with the visual language currently dominating premium television and streaming platforms.

Cinematic Lighting & Editorial Finish

Each look was built using signature cinematic lighting setups, sculpting the face and body with depth and restraint. Nothing flashy. Nothing decorative. Just controlled light that enhances character and presence.

From the session, Elisha selected eight master-retouched images from a curated proof gallery. Retouching was kept honest and refined—polished, but never over-worked—ensuring the final images remain casting-accurate while still reading as high-end editorial portraits.
