I recently welcomed actor Francis Price to my Los Angeles studio for a set of fresh, cinematic actor headshots. Francis, a graduate of the CalArts Theater School and Middlebury College, brings a grounded presence and disciplined technique shaped by years of stage and screen experience.
Francis Price – Cinematic Headshots in Los Angeles (Rory Lewis Photographer 2025)
A New Jersey native, he has performed Off-Broadway with the Potomac Theater Project and Dogteam Theater Project at the Atlantic Theater in Chelsea, and has appeared in a range of short films—one of which was nominated for Best Student Short at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. His training and versatility made him an ideal subject for a contemporary, expressive headshot session.
Creating Francis’s Acting Headshots
For this session, we focused on clean, honest, character-driven looks—images that casting directors respond to and that reflect Francis’s range. Using my signature cinematic lighting style, we developed a series of shots that highlight:
Presence – a calm, confident stillness
Emotion in micro-expression – subtle, real, truthful
Character neutrality – ideal for drama, grounded roles, and narrative work
