As a United States Marine Corps veteran, Kevin served honorably as a combat correspondent and documentarian during OEF and OIF. That transition—from the intensity of the front lines to the high-stakes creative machinery of Marvel Studios—is a narrative in itself. I recently had the privilege of hosting Kevin at my Los Angeles studio to capture a series of portraits that reflect his journey from Marine to a leader in the creative industry.
The Subject: Discipline Meets Vision
Kevin’s transition to civilian life was marked by the same excellence he brought to the Corps. A graduate in screenwriting, philosophy, and theology from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Kevin was the valedictorianof the 2012 graduating class.
In 2015, Kevin joined the creative team at Marvel Studios, bringing a unique perspective to the world's most successful film franchise. In our session, we aimed to bridge these distinct worlds:
The Intellectual Creative: Utilizing bold, red-framed glasses, we highlighted Kevin's sharp, analytical side. The vibrant accessory serves as a metaphor for the unique lens through which he views storytelling.
The Stoic Documentarian: Against a warm, textured olive backdrop, we focused on the man himself. There is a grounded, quiet strength in these shots that speaks to his history as a Marine.
