The Art of the Executive Edge: Capturing Sean Henney in the Heart of London (London Corporate Headshots)
In my twenty years behind the lens, I’ve photographed everyone from Hollywood icons like Sir Patrick Stewart to world leaders. But there is a specific kind of energy I love capturing in my Central London studio: the ambition of the city’s top professional talent.
Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Sean Henney, a man who is as focused on the future of private markets technology as I am on the future of fine-art portraiture.
Lighting the "Data Obsessed" Professional
When Sean came to me, we talked about his mission—navigating the "hardest problem" in his industry: data. My goal as a photographer isn’t just to get a clear shot of a face; it’s to use cinematic lighting to reveal the character of the person solving those problems.

For Sean’s session, we focused on two distinct "beats":
The Power of Shadow: In our first setup (the dark background), I used a classic Chiaroscuro technique. This creates a bold, authoritative look that mirrors Sean’s deep expertise and his "obsessed" approach to tech. It’s a shot that says he’s ready to lead the conversation.
The Approachable Expert: For the second look, we transitioned to a tie and a lighter, high-key background. This retains the "cinematic" quality but adds a layer of boardroom-ready polish—perfect for a leader operating in the Durham and London financial corridors.
