Farrington Studio, London — 9 May 2018 RCIN 2119732 · RCIN 2119733
I am honoured to share that two further portraits of His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent — photographed as Senior Colonel of The King's Royal Hussars — have been accepted into the Royal Collection, completing his contribution to the thirteen works from my archive now preserved there.
Photographed during the same May 2018 session at my Farrington Studio, these portraits record His Royal Highness in the distinctive dress of the cavalry, the regiment that descends from his own. Prince Michael was commissioned into the 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) and later served in The Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own); his honorary appointment as Senior Colonel of The King's Royal Hussars continues that lifelong regimental bond. To photograph a sitter in the uniform of his own military lineage is a rare privilege, and one I treated with corresponding care.
