Rory Lewis Studio, 411 S Main Street, Unit 222, Downtown Los Angeles
Over six hours you will photograph four professional models in my own studio, under the same lighting I use for commissioned work. The day is built around light: how a single source shapes a face, when a second light earns its place, and how to move from a classical setup to a cinematic one without losing the sitter. You will leave with portfolio images made across four distinct setups, and with a method you can repeat on your own.
Models and all lighting are provided. Bring a camera and an 85mm or 50mm lens.
The approach is the one behind portraits now held in the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Collection, and sittings with five British Prime Ministers. The class is about how that work is actually made, setup by setup.
The fee is $395.00 Places are limited, and the class runs with a small group so that everyone spends real time behind the camera.
