My directional inspiration for the sitting flowed from three themes. The first to capture Ciarán as a penitent man, who believes, the second, a focused individual, the third a man who doubts. Outgoing Commander Lt Colonel Ridgway of The Royal Tank Regiment, commissioned a portrait to be placed on the regimental wall of former Commanding Officers. Visiting Regimental Headquarters with my portable kit, the Colonel posed in No.1 Dress.
