A Spring of Workshops (Rory Lewis Photographer Workshops)

This spring, award-winning portrait photographer Rory Lewis invites photographers from around the world to immerse themselves in a season of workshops dedicated to the art, craft, and philosophy of portraiture.

Recognised by the National Portrait Gallery, Portrait of Britain, and as a Hasselblad Masters finalist, Rory Lewis is internationally known for portraits that balance classical lighting with cinematic storytelling—images that sit comfortably between fine art, history, and contemporary portrait practice.

From Los Angeles to London, New York, Amsterdam, and beyond, these workshops offer rare access to a photographer whose work spans royalty, world leaders, actors, artists, and elite military regiments.

About Rory Lewis

With over twenty-three years behind the lens, Rory Lewis has photographed some of the most recognisable faces of our time, including Sir Patrick Stewart, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Tony Blair, Theresa May, Andy Serkis, William Shatner, and H.R.H. The Duke of Kent, alongside extensive work with British, American, and European armed forces.

His ongoing projects—ChronoVisions, Portraits in Power, and Soldiery—explore time, leadership, identity, and memory through a distinctive visual language inspired by Caravaggio, Ribera, Holbein, and cinematic lighting traditions.

Rory’s workshops reflect this same approach: rigorous, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in visual storytelling rather than formulaic techniques.
