A significant milestone in the ongoing mission to preserve military heritage — The Green Howards Museum has officially acquired Rory Lewis’s portrait of Field Marshal The Lord Houghton of Richmond.
The acquisition, made possible through Rory Lewis Non-Profit, reflects the organization’s dedication to safeguarding the likenesses of distinguished British, American, and Allied service members for future generations.
Captured at Rory’s London studio in October 2025, the portrait continues his Heroes in Focus archive — an ambitious visual record honoring courage, leadership, and service across nations. Influenced by masters such as Holbein and Lawrence, Lewis employs his signature chiaroscuro lighting to evoke both timeless dignity and profound humanity, uniting classical portraiture with contemporary vision.
